February Seven Day Story Challenge — Day One

A reminder about the rules.  The objective is to write a story over the next seven days.  Identify the approximate number of words you want to write each day and try to stick with it.  My suggestion is 150-200 per day, but pick a number and keep to it.  If you pick 175 words per day, stop as close to that number as you can.  Don’t worry if you’re in the middle of a piece of dialog, or in the middle of a scene.  Just stop for the day.  Then wait for the next day’s word.

Each morning (at least morning my time), I’ll post a word here.  Selected somewhat randomly.  It is your job to use that word in that day’s writing on the story.  It’s that simple.  And when the week is done, hopefully you’ll have a seven day story of about 1,200-1,500 words that went somewhere you never expected when you started.

So, in honor of this being the first day of the challenge, today’s word is …

initial (or any form of the word)

Now, go forth and write.
